'Unveiling' Essence

This Essence was first made in 2005, in the beautiful ruins of the Eshmoun Temple, near Saida, south of Beirut. Many people equate the Phoenician god of healing, Eshmoun, with Asclepius. Eshmoun was worshipped throughout the Phoenician territories of the ancient Mediterranean, and there are remains of his temples at Carthage and in Sardinia. It seems that this site was particularly dedicated to the healing of children, as a large number of votive offering depicting children have been found, and there are friezes still evident among the ruins that show children at play. In the temples of Asclepius the patient used to sleep in a cave in the sanctuary ('incubation') until the source of his sickness was revealed through dreams or inspirations, which would then be interpreted by the priests living there.

This Essence is particularly indicated to bring unconscious material manifesting as sickness closer to the surface. Bringing old, locked away trauma and pain into the warm light of day, of consciousness, allows them to be understood, integrated and dissolved. This remedy helps to narrow the gap between the body and the unconscious mind, and the aspects of the self are able to communicate with one another more.
It may help in breaking a pattern of recurrent coughs and colds, asthma and any respiratory disease. (The lungs are known as the 'Seat of Melancholy' in Traditional Chinese Medicine, so there may be a relationship between recurrent respiratory disease and sadness.)
If you have been taking this Essence for a few days, or even a few weeks, and old feelings start to come to the surface - as dreams, memories and so on, stop taking the drops for a few days, and just allow it to come to the surface for a while, before continuing. If you feel overwhelmed by what surfaces and you can't make any sense of it, then change Essence, and take 'Perspective' for a few days; this should clarify your 'life-vision', and help you to see your way through.

If taken for a few days, this Essence may also help to release 'creative block' in artists and writers, and resistance or block during psychotherapy.

'Emerging' Essence

This Essence was made at the Shrine of the Prophet Jonah, or Nabi Yunus in Arabic, at Jiyeh, just south of Beirut. The ancient and peaceful shrine is hidden away among the apartment blocks down near the sea in Jiyeh, far from the glamorous private beaches the area is famous for. The shrine is slightly underground, with an outer carpeted room and an inner sanctum containing a stone sarcophagus covered in green cloth. According to the guardian it's used by all religions, and is supposed to be the place where Jonah came to shore after being coughed up by the whale.

'When you pass through the waters, I will be with you'. Isaiah 43:2a

This essence is related to the throat chakra, and may be useful in breaking a pattern of recurrent gum disease, caries, teeth grinding, mouth ulcers or tonsillitis. It is indicated for speech problems such as stammering, and also for a tendency to slander others or to grumble a lot. If you have to give a speech that will really move other people, take a few drops of 'Emerging' Essence beforehand. 'Emerging' helps you to sing freely, to speak freely, and to tell your story - so it's good for anyone who feels they've been prevented from speaking out, who has repressed emotions or swallowed their anger.
When you find yourself complaining a lot, or blaming others; when you regret not having followed your intuition, the call of your Soul - then take Emerging Essence. Finally, this Essence is used for those who are emerging from a period of seclusion; studying, breastfeeding, the ending of a difficult marriage or divorce, mourning or depression - it seems to help them re-enter the community, but on their own terms.

'Patience' Essence

We made this Essence in the spring of 2005, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Mantara (Our Lady of Awaiting) at Magdoucheh, high up on the hills above Sidon. The little rock-hewn shrine is open to the air for pilgrims, and we placed the water on the floor at the front. This is the place where Mary, the mother of Jesus, was said to wait for Him when He had been preaching in Tyre and Sidon, at the foot of the mountain.

This Essence brings patience, and the ability to see the benefits of a period of waiting. It can help you to stop... stop running around trying to solve things through actions... and just 'be', just be at peace with how things are at the moment. It may help you to develop trust in God, and surrender to His purpose for your life. Just be happy to be alive, even when things seem very stuck.
It often seems that women spend a lot of their lives 'waiting'; waiting for boyfriends to call, for marriage, for children. It's not that this Essence is only for women, it's just that perhaps this pattern is more prevalent in the lives of women. If you're a man and you've done well on this Essence, please let us know! This is something I wrote when I did one of the 'Provings' of this Essence: "I saw an image of pearls and jewels, heaped up together, and I realised that these highly prized jewels and all made very, very slowly, in an unseen way, in the heart of the earth."
I also heard: "Be patient. You don't know what facets of your soul God is working on". I saw a vision of an elaborate embroidery, and I heard the words: "Produce something beautiful from your waiting."
So if you find that you have the tendency to project your happiness onto some future time, future state, future event, rather than being happy now, then this is the remedy for you.

'Re-vitalise' Essence

This Essence was also made in the spring of 2005, at Amchit, just north of Jbeil or Byblos, about an hours drive up the coast from Beirut. Four of us, two men and two women, made the remedy sitting on the warm grass, surrounded by the buzzing of insects, in a field just a short way inland of a tiny whitewashed church. The whole feeling of the day was one of celebration, of exuberance, and playfulness.

This Essence is indicated for those who have become weary of life, or exhausted by illness. For worn-out mothers, and jaded businessmen. Its job is to bring back vitality, playfulness and spontaneity. It can re-kindle sexual desire, and sexual playfulness - for example after illness, after childbirth, or during the menopause.
It seems to have a beneficial effect during the menopause generally, and regulates the female hormones - if it seems to suit you, we think you can take it daily for at least 6 months. It helps you to feel more present in your body, more confident in sport or dance, anything that requires co-ordination, and to forget your worries and enjoy yourself!
We have noticed that sometimes it seems to make you more attractive to the opposite sex - let us know what happens if you take some and something interesting happens! We think it may also help with kidney and bladder problems.

This Essence is related to the Sacral chakra, (Svadhisthana) and typical symptoms or difficulties associated with the incorrect function of this chakra include: lack of sense of abundance; inability to look after ourselves physically, and give our body, emotions and mind what they need; lack of vitality, and dysfunction of the reproductive organs.

'Heartwork' Essence - a new Najma Essence!

This Essence was made in the tiny stone shrine dedicated to Nabi Musa, or the Prophet Moses, in Kmartieh in the hills above Beirut. Souha's father is the custodian of the shrine, which is just a little room tucked among the village houses. Nobody knows the origin of this shrine, but it has an extraordinary atmosphere, so peaceful so quiet. On the day we made this essence I wrote: "whenever I'm here I feel utterly in love". And I saw cascades of pink roses, symbolising Divine Love, and the Heart Centre, as we meditated before making the Essence.

This Essence heals the wounds of the heart, and enables you to rise up and connect with Divine Love. If your heart has been wounded by romantic love, or family difficulties, and you become aware that you have got stuck, your spiritual progress seems blocked, and you've lost your connection to the Divine, then take Heartwork Essence. Old sadness will be dissolved, so that the heart is open and cleansed. This Essence helps you to go beyond personal pain and sadness, and to dwell in Divine Love. Take the Essence once a day for a full month, to really break the patterns of old pain that stops you going forwards.
This Essence can also help those who are in a position of Leadership, but who want to lead from a place of Divine Will, not from ego.
Heartwork Essence relates to the Anahata, or Heart Chakra. Anahata means 'un-stuck' or 'unhurt' in Sanskrit, implying that under all the pain and sorrow of daily human life is the pure, clear, untouched and fully functioning heart. We just have to find our way back to it!
Typical symptoms or states that may be associated with blockage or underfunction of the Anahata chakra include:
We add Rose Tincture, made on Mount Lebanon, to the Heartwork Essence, because of the relationship of the Rose to the heart, and to the Divine.

'Belonging' Essence

This Essence relates to the Base Chakra, or Muladhara, and was made on the Chekka Peninsula, in the ruins of an old hermitage, looking out over the sea towards the town of Chekka. The root chakra has four petals, it's colour is deep red, and the main issues associated with it are: a sense of belonging or rootedness, and the right to speak out, be yourself, be heard; issues of survival and safety, from which fear and stress arise; materialism - either too much, or too little. When this chakra is out of balance the person can feel they are not 'on solid ground', and can compensate for this through indulgence in material things, or addiction.

This Essence is about transforming fear to faith. It is useful where survival has been threatened, or where there has been a background of abuse (sexual or violent) in the childhood, or for those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, where a shock has ruptured a person's sense of security and trust in life. People who have a deep sense of shame may benefit from Belonging Essence.
Belonging Essence may help physical symptoms such as recurrent diarrhoea or constipation, Irritable Bowel Disorder, sciatica and low back problems, circulation problems in the legs, and recurrent infections such as colds and 'flues' (lowered immunity).

'Perspective' Essence

This Essence was made near the Hermel Pyramid, in the Bekaa valley, and it's associated with the Third Eye, the Brow, or Ajna, Chakra. This chakra is related to how we 'see' the world, to our ability to have an overview of situations. It governs the Pituitary gland, which influences the body's hormones, and imbalance of this chakra may lead to sleeplessness, poor concentration, learning disorders, eye problems, vertigo, headaches and migraines, mental illness, over-intellectualisation.
The Hermel Pyramid is more of an obelisk than a pyramid, in the centre of the north end of the Bekaa, on a raised mound. You can see it from miles away, and you can feel it from miles away too - it had been pulling me towards it for months before I actually managed to get there - every time I sat and meditated, or asked for guidance, I would see an image of the Hermel Pyramid beaming amethyst light into my Third Eye.

During times of great confusion, or when overwhelmed by the number of tasks you have to do, this Essence will bring clarity of mind, an ability to plan and to do what you have to do in an ordered way. It can help people who are studying, or have an overwhelming number of different things to organise, or those who have to make important decisions at very short notice, like doctors and business people. It may help people who are going around and around in an emotional situation to gain an overview, so spraying it in the air in family confrontations, for example, might help people to keep a clear head!!
Perspective Essence helps with concentration and meditation, and may reduce procrastination and dithering. It also helps you to see clearly your own area of responsibility in a situation, and what needs to be done to sort things out.
It brings insight, and a penetrative understanding of what's going on.
Take this Essence in the mornings, so that it doesn't cause sleeplessness from an active mind.
